Yachting Monthly Article – Simon Phillips

I have been filmed by Yachting Monthly for an article regarding tips and tricks on shorthanded sailing.

This short video goes through step by step processes of what you can do onboard if you are shorthanded. The tips illustrated are to make your life easier and to help to be prepared in advance for your next move. For example, if you are going sailing and you are on your own, there is a lot of preparation you can do to the mainsail while still tied to the pontoon. Tasks such as removing the cover, preparing the halyard, running reefing lines, raising the boom, getting lines on winches ready etc etc. This can all be done prior to setting off, leaving you only to remove sail ties and hoist when you want!
