Yacht Delivery from Jersey to The Solent onboard a Hardy 36 Motor Yacht.
We received an enquiry regarding the delivery of a motor yacht delivery and for own boat training by the owner of a Hardy 36. Moored in Jersey, the task was to relocate this fine motor yacht to The Solent. Once back closer to home, to provide own boat training tailored to the owners requirements.
Skipper Simon Phillips flew out with the owner and a friend to Jersey. After going through the various systems on board, with a favourable forecast, we set off. Timing was critical to get through the Alderney Race – slightly wrong one way or another results in a very choppy and bumpy ride or very slow progress! In this case, timing was fine and we had a smooth and comfortable ride and a helpful tide!
Shipping lanes were crossed, altering course for one ship – it was unusually quiet in The English Channel. The forecast was ideal for a motor-yacht delivery trip – light wind, smooth seas and good visibility.
Leaving around breakfast time, we were tied up in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight in time for dinner!
